Prepare your business for the Simandou supply chain.

Exploring business and investment opportunities around Simandou starts with a precise question: are you assessing an independent service business, a proposed partnership or a supplier route? We help you investigate where your capability fits. Capital Africa is independent and does not represent Simandou, the Government of Guinea, Rio Tinto, Winning Consortium Simandou, SimFer or any project operator.

Guinea · Research, verification & local coordination
01 / Guinea

Understand the project before approaching it.

Rio Tinto reports that the first shipment left Guinea in December 2025. Its project overview describes a mine, rail and port system moving through commissioning and ramp-up; this does not mean every work package is open.

Separate the organisations

SimFer covers mining blocks 3 and 4; Winning Consortium Simandou covers blocks 1 and 2. Their associated infrastructure organisations and Compagnie du TransGuinéen have distinct roles. Identify the actual legal buyer, main contractor or subcontractor for your offer; a project name alone is not a purchasing mandate.

Work from official channels

SimFer publishes supplier information and directs companies to its supplier portal and the Bourse de Sous-traitance et de Partenariats for expressions of interest. Check each notice at its original source.

Match your delivery capacity

Equipment supply, maintenance, logistics or site services need a clear capability statement. Explain what you can deliver, where you operate and how you would support the work locally.

02 / Guinea

Build a credible supplier approach.

A useful introduction starts with an organised business, a specific offer and evidence of delivery.

Present the business clearly

Prepare your company profile, relevant project experience, equipment or product specifications and local delivery plan. We help organise the information around the buyer you want to approach.

Understand the review process

SimFer’s published process addresses supplier conduct, safety, business integrity and company documentation. We can help identify gaps to discuss with your qualified advisers and technical team.

Check the proposed local partner

Review ownership, registration, operating capability and the role each party would play. A partnership should be based on responsibilities and verifiable experience, not a promise of access.

03 / Guinea

Make the local preparation useful.

We help you investigate your route to market while the operator retains control of its procurement and site access.

Research relevant organisations

We can map operators, contractors and local service businesses connected to your area of expertise, then distinguish published information from points requiring direct confirmation.

Coordinate working meetings

We help prepare meeting requests and a business itinerary. Any visit to a controlled site requires the relevant permission, safety arrangements and a confirmed host.

Plan the follow-up

Bring together meeting notes, supplier requirements, questions for advisers and next actions. This gives your team a practical basis for deciding whether and how to proceed.

04 / Guinea

Mining services, engineering and construction.

The following are business capabilities to assess against an identified buyer and a current scope. They are not advertised contracts or confirmation that a project package is open.

Mining services and equipment

Define the work you can perform: technical support, equipment rental, parts or specialist operations support. Provide machine specifications, operator competence and previous delivery evidence. We can investigate which organisations use that capability and what local support your offer would need.

Engineering and infrastructure construction

Civil works, workshops, drainage, buildings and industrial installations each require a different technical team. Establish the design responsibility, standards, work boundary and approval process with the buyer before preparing a proposal or committing equipment.

Power and electrical services

For generators, solar support, electrical installation or power-system maintenance, obtain a defined load and operating brief. Engineers should assess reliability, integration, fuel or replacement needs and safety. We can coordinate the business discussions and site enquiries needed to scope that work.

Maintenance and industrial support

Present a service response plan covering technicians, spares, tools, workshop location and breakdown attendance. Test the commercial model against confirmed equipment and service schedules, rather than assuming that construction activity automatically creates a maintenance contract.

05 / Guinea

Railway, port and transportation services.

Simandou combines mine, rail and port operations. SimFer also publishes logistics guidance for suppliers. Any proposed role depends on the relevant operator, contracting arrangements and access permissions.

Railway-related opportunities

Rail maintenance, inspection support, components and specialist equipment require buyer-approved specifications and qualified personnel. We help identify the relevant organisation and prepare questions about qualification, technical interfaces and the intended service location.

Freight and port logistics

Map the full movement of your equipment or goods: origin, shipping, clearance, storage and final delivery. Confirm responsibilities with the buyer and appointed logistics professionals, including handling limits and the evidence needed at each handover.

Road transport and fleet support

A trucking, staff-transport or vehicle-maintenance business needs an agreed route, fleet standard and operating schedule. Investigate road conditions, journey management, driver competence and support arrangements before deciding what equipment to deploy.

06 / Guinea

The services that keep people and operations working.

SimFer’s June 2025 update documented catering, logistics and workforce suppliers. That is evidence of past service activity, not a current invitation. Other service ideas below are subjects for customer research.

Housing and accommodation

A hotel, serviced accommodation or camp-support proposal should identify the paying customer, location and expected occupancy pattern. Review water, sanitation, security, maintenance and management with relevant specialists before acquiring property or expanding capacity.

Food supply and catering

Start with the customer’s menus, quality standards, delivery frequency and purchasing process. Investigate local produce, supplier consistency, refrigeration, food safety and backup supply. We can coordinate producer, distributor and catering-business discussions around a defined brief.

Professional services and technology

For document support, translation, business administration, connectivity or equipment-monitoring services, clarify the client’s requirements and how information will be protected. Regulated work should be handled by appropriately qualified professionals; a technology offer needs confirmed system and security requirements.

Workforce services and training

Describe the skills you can provide or develop, how competence will be assessed and how workers will be supported. Qualified local advisers should review employment and recruitment arrangements. We can help organise conversations with relevant businesses and training providers.

07 / Guinea

Build your procurement and Guinea entry plan.

A credible approach connects your delivery capability with a traceable buyer, a suitable local structure and a manageable first assignment.

Contractors and suppliers

Separate a direct operator enquiry from a subcontracting approach. For any invitation, check the legal entity, original notice, scope, deadline and contact through independently obtained official details. Treat supplier registration, qualification and a contract award as different stages.

Local partnerships

Research ownership, references, facilities and each partner’s responsibilities. Ask how equipment, people, costs and payments would be managed. Capital Africa can coordinate company and partner verification support before you rely on an introduction.

Guinea company setup

Bring your proposed activity, staffing model and customer requirements to qualified registration, tax and legal professionals. We help coordinate these conversations alongside premises and operating research. Establishing a company does not itself establish eligibility for a project contract.

Investor and business visits

Use a visit to test specific questions with agreed hosts: customer fit, a workshop site, a local partner or delivery arrangements. We coordinate the itinerary and meeting requests; controlled-site access remains subject to permission and safety requirements.

Your questions, answered.

A starting point for a more informed conversation.

Can Capital Africa obtain a Simandou contract for my company?

We help with independent research, preparation and local coordination. Procurement decisions belong to the relevant buyer. SimFer expressly states that supplier registration does not guarantee a contract.

How do I check whether a supplier invitation is genuine?

Confirm the notice or invitation through the operator’s official procurement channels and independently verify the legal entity and contact. We can help scope counterparty checks and identify the information that needs confirmation.

Can I visit Simandou through Capital Africa?

We can coordinate a visit request with a clear business purpose. Access is subject to the operator’s approval, operating schedule and safety requirements; a request is not a confirmed visit.
